Part 2: Light (low-cost spectrometer) (more text to come) Building and using a low-cost spectrometer. Materials needed:
- A shoe-box
- Empty DVD to use as grating (see here for a more refined version of the spectrometer, with the description of how to cut the DVD)
- Any cheap webcam
- Energy-saving lightbulb (not LED) for calibration (see reference spectrum below)
- Black paper for screen with slits (cut them thin!)
- Paper tape
